I was thrilled to receive Cover FX’s latest power Play Foundation and matte setting powder for review. I’ve always wanted to experience Cover FX products. after several weeks of use, I’m ready to share my thoughts. First, I’ll discuss the foundation, followed by a swift review of the setting powder.

Is The Foundation Any Good?
The Cover FX Power Play foundation remains a top choice in 2025. It boasts an remarkable range of 40 shades. This foundation is designed to be sweat-proof and transfer-resistant. Its formula delivers all-day coverage with a pleasant, weightless matte finish. It also offers robust protection against environmental pollutants. The foundation effectively absorbs excess oil and sweat without drying out the skin. Its creamy texture ensures effortless blending for a flawless look.

does It Oxidises?
This foundation resists oxidation, ensuring your chosen shade remains true throughout the day.
Is It Suitable For Oily Skin types?
Absolutely! Even with oily or combination skin, this foundation is suitable. It provides a beautiful semi-matte finish.
Does It Clog Pores?
Absolutely not.This formula is non-comedogenic and oil-free. It’s specifically designed to prevent pore clogging.
How Long Does It Last?
The longevity hinges on wear time. I’ve personally tested it for 8-10 hours with minimal change in appearance upon removal. The manufacturer claims a minimum 12-hour coverage.
What’s The Formula like?
Cover FX describes this as a liquid foundation offering lasting, waterproof, sweat-proof, and transfer-proof coverage. It delivers a weightless matte finish and defends against pollution. The formula includes an ultra-fine powder blend to minimize pores and fermented algae extract to shield against free radicals.

What Shade Do I Use?
Before trying these items, Cover FX was completely new to me. Selecting a foundation shade online for the very first time felt a bit daunting. Usually, I prefer getting my initial foundation shade matched in person at a store. This ensures a perfect complexion match before ordering online later.
For this experience, I used an online shade selector and picked N100. It sits squarely between TAN and DEEP. While close to my MAC NW45, it’s slightly darker than I prefer. Though, even though it’s a shade deeper than my norm, I can still make it work.
If I were to buy this foundation again, I’d definitely choose G90. It’s the lightest shade in the TAN range, and I believe it would be a better fit for my skin tone. If you have a similar complexion to mine and use MAC NW45, this shade might work well for you to.

This foundation is packaged in a user-amiable plastic bottle with a nozzle dispenser.A gentle squeeze is all it takes to dispense the perfect amount, preventing messy spills.The plastic bottle is a plus for me, making it lightweight and travel-friendly in my makeup bag.

Is it Worth The cost?
Absolutely, the $44 price is justified by its excellent quality. I prioritize product quality above all else, followed by packaging and user-friendliness. However, at this price point, it lacks the luxurious aesthetic of, say, MAC liquid foundation. Given that Cover FX isn’t a drugstore brand, the packaging coudl better reflect the premium price. But honestly, this isn’t a major concern for me.
Does Cover FX Use Clean Makeup?
I’m a huge fan of Cover FX because they prioritize clean beauty.Their formulas are free from harsh chemicals. Specifically, they avoid parabens, talc, fragrance, mineral oil, gluten, sulfates, and phthalates. Plus, they’re cruelty-free and vegan! What more could you want from a makeup brand in 2025?

Cover FX Matte Perfect Setting Powder Review
Beyond the foundation, I also received the setting powder. I chose DEEP, the darkest of the three available shades. This loose powder quickly sets makeup, avoiding fine lines. It also reduces shine, leaving a matte finish.

How To Use It
Once your makeup is applied, use a powder brush to grab some powder. Gently tap off any extra powder before applying.
Achieve an immediate matte complexion with a simple press, roll, and light sweep across your face.
My Experience With Using It
This setting powder, much like the Cover FX Power Play foundation, offered a close shade match. However, I think the medium shade would have suited my skin tone even better.Aside from that, I found the product effective and comparable to other setting powders on the market. My personal favorite remains the Sacha Buttercup Setting Powder by Sacha Cosmetics, which sells for $25 USD.
