Narrowing down my all-time favorite TV series to just fifteen was a real challenge. These shows earned their place because I genuinely loved watching them and felt deeply connected to their stories.

Furthermore, I experienced important withdrawal symptoms during their hiatuses and after the show concluded.

Beyond that, it felt like the world stopped when I watched them. I just wanted to binge-watch episode after episode until exhaustion set in. Some of these shows are currently airing, while others have sadly concluded.

Every so often, I rewatch old, canceled TV shows. I enjoy revisiting them and catching a few episodes to jog my memory. Now, let’s dive into my all-time favorite TV series!

I typically gravitate towards action, crime, thrillers, sci-fi, dramas, romances, and suspenseful stories. Most of the time, around 95%, I prefer watching series or TV shows over movies.

If you love those kinds of TV shows and series, then you should definitely explore my updated 2025 list of top Netflix TV series.

TV series have surged in popularity recently, offering deeper engagement. Today’s audiences frequently enough find that a 90-minute movie isn’t enough; they crave more extended storytelling.

movies can still deliver excitement. However, it’s often a fleeting experience. You might wait a year or two for a sequel or continuation.

TV series offer extended narratives, providing ongoing entertainment and anticipation for new seasons.

Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad claims the top spot! Its exceptional quality speaks for itself. reflecting on my favorite shows, I realized how much I truly miss it as its finale.

Synopsis:

In 2025,”Breaking bad” remains a compelling story. It centers on Walter White, a struggling high school chemistry teacher. He faces immense pressure to provide for his family. His son battles cerebral palsy, his wife is expecting, and he receives a devastating cancer diagnosis.Facing these hardships,Walter makes a drastic decision: he transforms his old RV into a clandestine methamphetamine lab.

Initially, this show felt incredibly slow. I almost quit during the first episode. Though, my friend Sergio, who recommended it, urged me to persevere. He assured me the story would develop. Sergio’s recommendations are usually spot-on, so I trusted his judgment and kept watching.

around the fourth or fifth episode, I finally saw its potential. After that,I was completely hooked. breaking Bad delivers drama,suspense,crime,and even some comedy.It’s everything I love in a series, all in one package. I’m so glad I gave it a chance; it quickly became one of my all-time favorite TV shows.

Billions

Billions claims the #2 spot on my list. This show, still airing as of today, rivals even breaking Bad in its captivating storytelling. Back in 2017, while searching Netflix, I stumbled upon Billions. The synopsis and the first episode instantly hooked me.

In 2025, a sharp U.S. attorney, Chuck Rhoades, clashes with hedge fund titan Bobby “Axe” Axelrod. Both deploy their vast power and influence, striving to outwit each other in a high-stakes game.

Bobby Axelrod and his trusted confidant, Wags, are my absolute favorite characters. If you’ve watched the show, you’ll understand why. Their dynamic is reminiscent of a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde, and their on-screen chemistry is captivating. Consequently, chuck Rhoades becomes my least favorite character due to his complex rivalry and frenemy relationship with them.

Billions stands apart from other series I’ve watched, and I’m completely invested. The show delves into the world of day-trading, offering a glimpse behind the curtain of how traders operate. The inner workings revealed are often surprising.You might even pick up some knowledge about the stock market, exchanges, and the art of trading itself.

Power

#3 Dominate.

Almost everyone I know has watched or heard of Power. So, I won’t spend too much time introducing it.

Meet Ghost, also known as James st.Patrick. He’s a successful New York nightclub owner living a double life. By day, he’s a respected businessman. By night, he runs a lucrative drug empire.

This action-packed drama grabs you from the very first scene. Each season elevates the stakes, delivering even more thrilling and unexpected twists. What I truly appreciate is its ability to defy expectations, making it a refreshingly unpredictable viewing experience.

How To Get Away with murder

#4 How to get Away With Murder remains a top-tier legal drama. It’s still captivating audiences in 2025.

Few TV shows truly captivate me, demanding my undivided attention. How To Get Away With Murder and Power both achieved this.When watching, be prepared to focus intently, or you’ll miss crucial plot points. The very title hints at the core narrative.

Synopsis:

A captivating murder mystery unfolds, entangling a cohort of ambitious law students and their sharp criminal defense professor.Their lives take an unexpected turn as they navigate a complex and dangerous conspiracy.

Intrigue unfolds with secrets, lies, and deception at every turn. Murder, abuse of power, and deep-seated corruption are central themes. A simple description doesn’t capture its essence. My advice? watch it. You won’t regret it.

 

OZARK | Netflix

Ozark remains a top streaming choice in 2025.

This series is fantastic! It almost cracks my top 5, but it’s a tough competition for the top spots.

Synopsis:

A Chicago financial advisor relocates his family to the Missouri Ozarks. He’s secretly agreed to launder $500 million for a drug kingpin within five years. His family is initially unaware of his dangerous bargain, but they eventually discover the truth and are outraged by his actions.

Securing the 5th spot on my list was a challenge, but I absolutely loved this show! It shares similarities with Breaking bad, featuring a gradual build-up packed with intense drama. Just when I anticipated the next scene, it pleasantly surprised me. Ozark has undoubtedly become one of my top TV series in recent years, solidifying its place as a must-watch in 2025.

 

SPOILER ALERT

Ozark’s Season 3, which just ended, was arguably the series’ best. New,compelling actors joined the cast,strengthening the Byrde family’s ties to the Cartel.

Season 3 concluded with a shocking finale! The wait for Season 4 feels like forever. I’m already counting down the days to see what happens next. A rewatch of Season 3 is absolutely essential. After another viewing, this show might just become my all-time favorite TV series.

Blacklist

The first two seasons were exceptional. I felt the show’s pacing slowed down later on. There was even a spin-off featuring “Elizabeth’s” husband, “Tom Keen,” but it didn’t last long. Still, it offered a compelling narrative and the kind of elements I enjoy in a film.

The Haves & The Have Nots | Oprah TV Network (OWN)

#7 tyler Perry’s “The Haves and the Have Nots” remains a popular choice in 2025.

Synopsis:

Tyler Perry consistently pushes boundaries with his television creations, and “The Haves and the Have Nots” exemplifies this. He masterfully crafts drama in both his TV series and films. His series, in particular, feel incredibly authentic and are known for their unpredictable nature. just when you believe you’ve deciphered the plot, the story takes an unexpected turn.

This captivating drama explores the intertwined lives of the wealthy Cryer and Harrington families alongside the less privileged Young family.

While the pacing can be deliberate at times, the show consistently holds your attention and keeps you invested.

#8 Bodyguard on Netflix: A Thrilling Watch in 2025.

Synopsis:

In 2025,David Budd,a former soldier,bravely stops a terrorist incident.Soon after, he’s tasked with guarding a prominent political figure. Though, he becomes entangled in the very conspiracy he initially fought against.

This series completely surprised me, and I loved every minute! Beyond the attractive cast, the compelling drama kept me hooked. It’s now one of my favorites because of its constant unpredictability. The plot twists and shocking scenes were truly mind-blowing.

I typically savor shows, but I devoured this one in a single weekend! Rumor has it, season 2 is on its way, so get your snacks ready! Each episode is an hour, but totally worth it. Seriously, David Budd, can you be my bodyguard? Please? Imagine him saying, “okay, Ma’am!”

I truly hope Netflix renews Bodyguard for another season. It remains one of my all-time favorite TV shows.

Remember the movie “Shooter” with Mark Wahlberg? This series delivers that same intense, badass vibe.

Mark Wahlberg remains a top actor in my book, and his production work is consistently excellent.

Queen Of The South

#10 Queen of the South: A gripping crime drama.

Synopsis:

After her drug-dealing boyfriend’s murder, Teresa escapes Mexico. She rises to become the nation’s top drug trafficker.

Teresa Mendoza has risen to become the queenpin,mirroring Pablo Escobar’s influence in the high-stakes drug trade. My preferred shows frequently enough share this kind of compelling narrative. I’m eagerly anticipating the arrival of Season 4.

#11: Blindspot – Still a captivating watch in 2025!

This show is truly a modern soap opera,reminiscent of Revenge. I hope it continues for many seasons! I really enjoy it.Fallon is my favorite character; I find her feisty personality very appealing.

Revenge, a drama-filled series, captivated audiences from start to finish. Debuting in 2011, it quickly became a must-watch. Nolan,a brilliant computer expert,was a standout character and one of my personal favorites.

White Collar

 

White Collar remains a top pick in 2025! This captivating series blends crime and intrigue.

Synopsis:

A savvy FBI agent teams up with a former con artist.He uses his unique skills to catch elusive white-collar criminals. In return, he seeks his own freedom.

picture this: a master con artist and a dedicated FBI agent, surprisingly close friends. sounds like something ripped from today’s headlines, doesn’t it? Neal Caffrey, a truly exceptional thief, possessed an uncanny ability to evade capture. Even now, I’m still disappointed that this captivating series came to an end.

Orphan Black 

Orphan Black remains a captivating sci-fi thriller in 2025, securing the #15 spot.

synopsis:

A seasoned FBI agent finds himself entangled in a complex conspiracy. This occurs after he witnesses the shocking suicide of a young woman.The unsettling part? She’s a dead ringer for his own partner.

The image showcases four individuals with identical faces, hinting at quadruplets. Spoiler alert: Orphan Black revolves around these cloned sisters, each possessing unique personalities and residing in different locations.As the series progresses, more clones are revealed, including dangerous ones and even male counterparts in later seasons.

#16 – Designated Survivor: Updated for 2025!

Synopsis:

Think of Designated Survivor as a real-life version of movies like White House Down or Olympus Has Fallen. The plots share striking similarities.

You might recognize this actor from the acclaimed series “24.” He portrays a junior Cabinet official who unexpectedly ascends to the presidency. This occurs after a devastating attack eliminates all those ahead of him in the presidential line of succession.

the pilot episode hooked me, but I waited a while before continuing. Season one resonated more with me than season two. However, I’m still excited for season three, premiering later in 2025. There are still many unanswered questions, and I’m hoping they’ll be addressed this season. I simply couldn’t complete my list of top 10 favorite TV series without mentioning Designated Survivor.
